  • Virtual Card is available for iOS as a single "universal app" with two separate native interfaces built-in for iPad™ and iPhone® / iPod touch®. With one app, you get different interfaces designed for the best experience on each device.
  • Fast app switching is supported, making multitasking a breeze when switching between Virtual Card and your favorite website or shopping app.
  • All communications with your bank are sent over a secure, encrypted HTTPS connection using SSL.
  • None of your information is stored on the mobile device.
  • No banking information is saved or shared with any other party. Each login initiates a session only with the bank you select.
  • When supported by your bank, the security code from your physical credit card is verified before generating or using a virtual card.
  • After switching the app to the background, you are forced to log in again after a period of inactivity.

The following Virtual Card features are based on the capabilities of the service provided by each bank.

Bank of America – ShopSafe®

  • Generate virtual cards with a specific card limit and expiration date.
    • Card limit from $1.00 to $9999.99 or your credit card limit, whichever is lower.
    • Expiration date from 2 to 12 months.
  • Generate virtual cards for one-time use or recurring payments.
  • Verify your physical card's CVV/CVC before generating or using a virtual card.
  • View all active virtual cards.
  • View all past virtual card transactions.
  • Edit virtual cards to increase the card limit or extend the expiration date (not more than 12 months from the original date).
  • Close virtual cards to prevent further use.

Citi Cards – Virtual Account Numbers

  • Generate virtual cards with a specific card limit and expiration date.
    • Card limit from $1.00 to $9999.99 or your credit card limit, whichever is lower.
    • Expiration date from 2 to 12 months.
  • Generate virtual cards for one-time use or recurring payments.
  • View all active virtual cards.
  • View all past virtual card transactions.
  • Edit virtual cards to increase the card limit or extend the expiration date (not more than 12 months from the original date).
  • Close virtual cards to prevent further use.

Discover Card – Secure Online Account Numbers

Note: On Oct 17, 2011, Discover announced the relaunch of their SOAN service after a month hiatus.
  • Generate virtual cards for one-time use or recurring payments.
    • Card limit is set to your Discover card limit.
    • Card expiration is set to your Discover card expiration date.
  • View all past virtual card transactions.
